Year 5 River Study

Year 5 had a great visit to Harehope Quarry for their river study trip.  It combined geography learning with outdoor adventure and helped the children appreciate the importance of rivers in our environment. By measuring the width, depth, and velocity of the river at different stages, they gained valuable hands-on experience and were able to see and recognise many of the features of a river that they had learnt about in the classroom.  Although we got a bit damp, it wasn’t cold and great fun was had by everyone!
