Random Acts of Kindness Day

Today was Random Acts of Kindness Day.
Random Acts of Kindness Day is a day that inspires people to spread love, compassion, and positivity through small, unanticipated acts of kindness. It encourages everyone to be kind and to make it a normal part of our everyday lives. Did you know that kindness can protect overall health, reduce the stress hormone cortisol, decrease anxiety and Increase energy and self-worth?
All classes across school participated in a random act of kindness for each other throughout the day.
- Year 3 read stories to Nursery and made sure to tidy the book area before they left and in return, Nursery sang Year 3 some songs.
- Year 5 handed out fruit and milk to Reception and they all enjoyed snack time together. Reception then invited Year 5 to play with them in the garden.
- Year 6 snuck into the Year 1 classroom to tidy up for them during their breaktime. They sharpened their pencils and tidied the reading area. Year 1 then wrote thank you cards for Year 6.
- Year 4 organised some games for Year 2 to play during their breaktime and to say thank you, Year 2 made friendship wristbands for Year 4.
Throughout the day, the children were also given 'Caught being kind' slips by members of staff if they were carrying out another random act of kindness.
There has been lots of kindness evident throughout school today. We hope that the children have brought the message home with them too and that they will continue to be kind to others, spreading a little joy into the world.
