On Wednesday, Year 5 and Year 6 were visited by Professor Neil Beattie from Northumbria University. Professor Beattie is Professor of Energy Innovation and the Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Renewable Energy Northeast Universities. He spoke to the children about careers in sustainable energy as part of their Dreams and Goals unit in PSHE. Professor Beattie explained to the children how we can make clean energy and demonstrated how electricity is made and how solar panels work. The children found this session very interesting, informative and inspiring and asked many interesting questions.
