Year 5 Visit to York

Year 5 have been learning about the Railway Revolution and Vikings in the Autumn and Spring term. The children were very excited about going on the train despite the early morning meeting time!

When we arrived in York, we visited the Railway Museum and the children were recapping on their learning from the Autumn term. Year 5 were able to recall key facts and asked lots of questions about what they could see in the museum.

After the Railway Museum, we walked through the city of York to Jorvik where the children consolidated their understanding of the Vikings.

On our way to Jorvik, we stopped outside York Minster to look at the statue of Queen Elizabeth ll.

We also visited DIG to take part in a 'Settlers, looters or raiders?' workshop.
